Study with Roger Williams

Roger takes the opportunity to teach several workshops a year. Being an artist can be a very lonely existence and the social interaction and camaraderie that the teaching process brings, is welcomed.

A good teacher knows where his students are. William’s teaching philosophy employs emphasis towards helping point each student in their own desired directions while still maintaining solid traditional methods of art instruction. These instructional methods utilize many of the techniques and philosophies of great artists and teachers of the past such as John Sargent, Nicolai Fechin, Joaquin Sorolla and many others.

Roger’s seminars are intended to be an experience of not only technical and aesthetic learning, but also a passage into being present with the work being done. What fun it can be!!

These seminars have two general platforms. Williams can take it outside with his plein air teaching, or keep it inside his working studio located in Santa Fe County New Mexico. He often combines the two worlds. Which ever direction it may be, the student can come and experience Santa Fe with its over 150 plus galleries and museums while taking in the beauty of Northern New Mexico.

The most practical way of finding out more about these workshops is to simply pick up the phone and call the artist or email Roger for any information you desire.

Private lessons and excursions can also be arranged.
