This last week I had the opportunity to teach a group of seasoned artists painting in plein air ( that’s French for open air or outside) at different sites outside the city different where I live. The area around Santa Fe is spectacular all year round but especially in the fall. Our week of oil painting ended at the Ghost Ranch near Abiquiu NM where we found great weather and endless southwest landscape.
Each and every time I demonstrate painting, it helps me apply the techniques I am articulating to my students, to my own work at a higher level. It seems to clarify in my mind my own philosophies concerning the execution of art
