Trade

I was picking up my newly made frames from my framer Larry Hite one day this winter in Colorado. As soon as I walked into his shop, I took one look at his face and saw this painting in my head. Larry was wearing  somewhat western dress with a hat that day, and it just struck me to ask him to pose for me. I did not have much time  to spend so I just pulled out my phone and took photos of him in a few positions. Months later after arranging other models, Larry then became the central figure in the painting entitled, ” Trade”.

It is not always easy to come up with good ideas when you are an artist. So, you have to use everything around you at any given moment and be ready to be inspired at some of the most unpredictable moments.
